OpCon and LSAMs need for communication purpose that some ports or ranges are open. Running EM from a Non-Standard Location

Usually, as default the profiles are all listed together in one profiles.xml file in the location similar to this, C:\Users\Username\.enterpriseManager\profiles.xmlBut the Enterprise Manager can look for the profile.xml in a different location providing the location is set up on the EM’s shortcut.How to proceedAs an example for multiple locations, you could setup something similar to this on the User’s machine:C:\EM-Profile\DevC:\EM-Profile\PreProdC:\EM-Profile\ProdThen create 3 shortcuts and have each shortcut pointing to the three different profile locations. Track Unique Tasks on Your Production

Quick definition of a unique taskYour contract is based on a daily average of unique tasks executed on your Production environment. Here is a definition of what is a unique task and how does it works :1 job instance executed = 1 unique task / day. 1 recurrent job executed with the same parameters = 1 unique task / day (you can restart 500 times the job, if the parameters are the same it will be a single unique task). Container and Null job not counted. SMA Utility maintenance jobs not counted.How to track the current statistics?In the Enterprise Manager, you can find a predefined report named "Unique Task Count". This report provides the statistics for a specific month of a year. This allows you to track the statistics on your OpCon environment.

With OpCon, you've the possibility to use encrypted global properties in your Unix jobs. But you may encounter an issue if you're using the wrong agent version.What is the issue?If you're using an encrypted global property in your job and it fails with an exit code 127, then check the log file to see if this is an issue with the agent version.If the logfile of your job contains the message "Error: This LSAM Version doesn't support encrypted token", the LSAM version used is not handling encrypted token.How to solve this?You must use an SSL version of the LSAM for the install. What is the issue?If you're encountering issues with a WS_FTP job, this article will guide you step by step to troubleshoot the problem.TroubleshootingEnsure the user you're running the job as in OpCon, has the profiles already setup with access to both the destination and source paths. Please verify that the machine is the same one utilized during setup. Next double check the source and destination paths are entered exactly the same as a connection in WS_FTP GUI. The question that may arise is, what happens if a user changes role or is deleted ? We will see in this article the best practices to answer these questions and avoid any questions.If you delete the user accountWhen you delete a user account on the Enterprise Manager, you'll not encounter any side effects on the content created by the user.
