SMA Community User Guidelines
Welcome to the SMA community! We are thrilled to have you here. Our goal with this space is to foster collaboration and transparency, inspire innovation, and promote professionalism. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we have established the following guidelines. These are designed to ensure respectful, productive, and engaging interactions.
General Conduct
All members of our community are expected to treat each other with respect and courtesy. Here are some key points to keep in mind:
- Be Respectful: Respect the diversity of opinions and backgrounds in our community. Discriminatory or derogatory comments will not be tolerated.
- Stay On Topic: Ensure that your contributions are relevant to the topic being discussed. This helps keep discussions meaningful and focused.
- No Spamming: Refrain from posting irrelevant or repetitive content. This includes advertisements, links to unrelated websites, and excessive posting.
- Privacy: Do not share personal information without consent. Respect the privacy of fellow community members.
Engage with the Community
Your posts contribute to the richness of our community. Here's how to make your contributions valuable:
- Quality Content: Share well-thought-out, informative, and insightful content. Aim to add value to the discussions.
- Originality: Post original content or give credit to the original source when sharing information. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
- Fact-Check: Ensure the accuracy of the information you share. Avoid spreading misinformation or rumors.
- FAQs: If you need a quick reference for navigating the community, check out our community FAQs.
- No soliciting: We're not here to sell you any products or services, and we ask for the same respect in return. Posts with the primary aim of promoting a product or service will be removed.
Online Community vs. Support
The SMA Online Community is the place to visit to share knowledge, connect with others, and hopefully find automation inspiration. Here, you can seek help from fellow community members and share your own expertise to assist others.
While employees do participate in some discussions, they are not the primary responders, as our goal is for you to learn from each other.
If you need official, detailed support (for billing issues, technical questions, features, etc.), or if you've encountered a problem (such as non-working features), please consult the Help documentation or contact the Customer Support team directly. You can also find information on the Support page.
If you've already submitted a support ticket, we ask that you please avoid posting the same question in the community. Similarly, if you've created a community post, there's no need to submit a support ticket. Let’s keep the conversation in one place to help ensure convenience for both you and us.
Reporting Issues
We strive to maintain a welcoming and safe environment. If you encounter any issues, please report them:
- Inappropriate Content: Report content that violates our guidelines, including abusive language, spam, or harassment. Email .community email] if you come across a post or comment that violates any of these guidelines.
- Technical Issues: Notify us of any technical problems you encounter while using the platform. Your feedback helps us improve. If you encounter any issues, please email community@smatechnologies.com.
NOTE
Misuse of the reporting function to harass or silence other community members will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action.
Disciplinary Actions
To maintain the integrity of our community, we may take disciplinary actions against members who violate these guidelines:
- Warnings: Minor infractions may result in a warning from the moderation team.
- Temporary Suspension: Repeated or severe violations may result in a temporary suspension of your account.
- Permanent Ban: Serious misconduct or continued violations will lead to a permanent ban from the community.
We reserve the right to remove posts or delete accounts if they are harmful to the SMA community.
EXAMPLE
A user posting harmful or abusive comments despite multiple warnings may receive a temporary suspension. Further violations could lead to a permanent ban.
Reasons for a Warning:
- Repeated violations of the same rule(s), despite previous warnings.
- Posting content primarily aimed at promoting websites or unrelated services (spamming).
- Using hateful or offensive language in interactions with other members.
- Creating multiple fake accounts to troll, harass, or fabricate reviews.
- Engaging in public disputes with moderators in an attempt to undermine or discredit them
You will receive two warnings before being banned from the community. The first warning will be followed by a temporary suspension.
Privacy
Sharing information is what this community is all about, but remember that what you share will be public. Please do not share personal information about others without their consent.
